Turn off valves, connect & tighten QCC-1 to the 5–20 lb tank, then invert the 5–20 lb propane tank.
Step2
Connect the 1"-20 Female Throwaway Cylinder Thread to the empty 16oz propane fuel cylinder.
Step3
Open the 5–20 propane tank cylinder valve.
Step4
Then turn on the on-off control valve and let the gas flow until the tank is full.

I love this adapter. The gauge is super helpful and filling a "refillable" propane canister is nice and fast. The safety valve is a really cool feature so you don't have to keep closing the nozzle on the main tank if you're filling up multiple canisters. Super easy to install and doesn't leak when switching out canisters. For this price point, this is a great deal. Definitely recommend this adapter.

I chose this refill adapter because of its many features. I even noticed another cool feature, as I was putting it up in my shop. In the picture I took, you can see that the fuel gauge needle glows in the dark. I really like the valve on this. Most others don’t have a valve, I feel that they are unsafe. Craftsmanship is great, it’s put together right. I would definitely recommend this to anyone that refills your own small bottles.

I have several 1 lb propane bottles that I have not thrown away and it is not always possible to find a refil station that will fill those up. This CALPOSE propane refill adapter is an excellent accessory for me to reuse those 1lb bottles. The adapter has a built in shutoff valve and gauge which will make it easy to do the task of refiling and knowing when to shut it off. The adapter fits the 20 lb tank snugly and there are no leaks on either end of the adapter.

This thing is great! Apparently, in 2028, my state (California) is going to be outlawing green propane bottles - this gets around that problem. I think I have about 10 of them and I use them for starting fires in my fireplace and with my mini flame thrower. Install is as simple as can be. Build quality feels solid and worked like a charm first go-around. I have heard that you should chill and also pull the purge pin, but I didn't bother and got well over half the can full with no work. I should have purchased one sooner! Highly
